Sound
Music and language, both are so special, but both are so damned difficult. It is so easy to gasp the wrong end of the stick. How we perceive what we hear, has such profound implications. Add in local dialects or an international dimension and using what we think of as simple language can lead into difficult waters.
While staying with friends in Germany and trying to use the German language, on heading up to bed I thought I said ‘good night’ but I really said it’s good to be naked, fortunately it was smiles all round.
Anyway I have just given away all my books on understanding language. So I wonder if I should try my hand at mathematics instead, yet mathematics brought us the nuclear age.
Unfortunately and sadly I can’t make music… and my camera skills still leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps I should return to gardening.
the main thing is never give up. the journey is the reward.
