The Witch Hunters
After a hearty breakfast of mushrooms on toast, our two intrepid hunter set out to find prey. It was a hard trek crossing Pendle hill, carrying all their paraphernalia. So at noon, when they came across a small dell, they set up camp for a packed lunch. The fine grass of their resting place however was the favourite grazing place for a herd of goats. Soon they were surrounded. Edward raised his walking stick only to see it turn into a snake…
Is he discovering powers he didn’t know he had? Or being attacked?
This for the reader to decide,.
Oh now. You’ve left us with much to think about!

Hi Rochelle, thank you for keeping Friday Fictioneers alive, I am sorry that I was way so long.. I wonder if the landlady at there overnight stop, gave them magic mushrooms as part of their breakfast
Yeah, I doubt that snake trick was a happy one, although I suppose it might work to scare the goats?
I love the bear coffee! Did you make it, or receive it?
Hi Jen, a lovely polish lass created the coffee image just for me. It was fabulous… I am wondering if the landlady at there last overnight stop, gave them magic mushrooms as part of their breakfast
Well done. Don’t know if the goats are the witches or the witches own the goats, but both are intriguing.
Thank you Connie, both are possibilities, but perhaps the landlady at the overnight stop, gave them magic mushrooms as part of their breakfast
I would expect nothing less on Pendle Hill.
It is always better to be wary on Pendle Hill. I think the landlady at the overnight stop, gave them magic mushrooms as part of their breakfast

Oh. I think our two hunters might be outclassed here. Very mysterious ending, which could be good or bad, but I’m not happy about all those goats, or the transformed walking stick. Great story.
Thank you Margaret, secretly I think the landlady at there overnight stop, gave them magic mushrooms as part of their breakfast
Makes me wonder what they packed for lunch.
To many magic mushrooms at breakfast perhaps,
Perhaps the hotel landlady gave them magic mushrooms for breakfast
Oh, I hate when that happens hopefully it’s the harmless garden variety snake. Great story.
Things are rarely harmless on Pendleton Hill
