The Black River
Issy and Storm sat watching the Black River, waiting for Fox to deliver as promised. The river was full of drifting flotsam, a complete tree drifted past, it bare branche’s holding a lone body. Issy crossed herself, Storm wondered what evil force had taken the life of such a young individual.
Here on Diamond world you had to do as directed, or life became impossible. Well with the help of the Fox that would change. The tree twisted as it grounded against more remnants rejected by the Force. Hello urchins, did you miss me? Not so dead as you thought?
Fox may be too late
Hopefully not on my watch. Thank you Neil.
Great atmosphere built here, Michael
Thank you C E Ayr
Fox to arrive at the last minute for a dramatic rescue? Here’s hoping!
overthrowing the bad guys is the Fox’s aim. He has to use all the tricks in his arsenal
Interesting.
Tree grounded itself? Yes please!
We need more trees that can ground themselves and survive for our planet’s health.
The New Bride – Anita
If only we could have more trees then I would be a happy guy. Thanking you for your support Anita
Wildly imaginative.
I am pleased it worked, thank you granonine
I really enjoyed this Michael! I sure hope Fox does what is necessary!
(Just add an ‘s’ at “its bare branches” 😉 )
Thank you on all counts Dale
Dear Michael,
Quite a scenic story What an entrance Fox makes.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I am glad it came over alright Rochelle. I was attempting a change of subject matter.
Sly as a fox, by name and nature, good stuff from diamond world
I was so pleased to read your comment. I was attempting a return to former subject material, whilst or until my muse returns.
With names like those, how can they fail? 🙂
That is true, but they may still fail.
Your imagination was working overtime this week Michael, well done.
Thank you Sandra, perhaps my imagination was making up for the last three weeks, when I certainly struggled for ideas.
Some destruction Issy and Storm are witnessing!
That’s certainly true, thank you Abhijit
You managed to tell a lot about that world in your story.
Thank you Gabriele, it is a slowly developing world in my imaging.
Is the newcomer Fox?
I am not sure as yet,… but I don’t think it is. Thank you Bernadette
Very creative tale from different points of view. =)
It is kind of you to say so, the world of Diamond is slowly taking form in my imagination
Brrrr. Not a place I’d like to be.
It is certainly a place few if any like, Patrick
A great addition to your Diamond world Michael, very taut story.
I really appreciate and thank you,
Diamond sounds like a very hostile place. You’ve set up a very mysterious scene with intriguing characters. It makes me want to know more, and that’s always good.
Hostile is very true, I do appreciate you taking the time to comment Margaret
Nimble Fox to the rescue! Nicely told, Michael!
Thank you Violet, Fox came to my rescue when my muse went to sleep.
I love the names of your characters!
I am rather pleased to hear that Dawn, as I plan to tell more of their life stories
it looks like a future we don’t want to face.
Very true, unfortunately I may have no choice, as I have started to write more of their adventures
