Silence
At first Carol wondered why it was so silent, but now that she knew that she was dying, it explained a lot. How did she know death was beating at her door, well she had heard the nurse saying so. That explained why her family looked glum.
Carol smiled as memories flashed across her mind, starting with going to the circus at Blackpool. She saw Mandrake, he had ensure that her dream came true, when he deposited her at Dereks feet. Carol thought a lot about Mandrake, she hoped his shop was waiting for her on the other side.
Dear Michael,
I hope for her the shop is waiting on the other side. Nicely told.
Shalom,
Rochelle
That would be her dream. Rochelle
There are shops on the other side? And money? And work? Say it isn’t so
Sadly I think that it may well be so
That was such a sad last line. I guess that belief would keep her happy till the end. Lovely story Michael!
You are kind, thank you so much
Deep one, Michael.
First-rate piece.

Hope she gets what she is looking forward to.
Only time will tell, but I believe that she will.
Huh. You leave us wondering, which means the writing is top notch :). So many possibilities!
Your comment is very kind, thank you Linda
I hope Mandrake can be trusted, I have my doubts.
Mandrake says to have faith Iain.
That Mandrake must run a hell of a shop.
It is one hell of a shop. Magical in many ways.
Enjoyed this enigmatic story. Wonder if Mandrake is a dream-maker.
Mandrake has many abilities. Delivering dreams into reality is a speciality
Sounds like some daydreams I’ve had. Realistic scenario, Michael, that was enjoyable to read.
It is lovely to know that you enjoyed this story. Thank you.
Nice. I wish it was easier to comment on your stories Michael.
I am really sorry that I do not have the skill to improve my web site. At the present time I am considering what to do about it. Any ideas would be welcome. Mike
The other side. Who knows what awaits us? A touching piece indeed.
Here’s mine!
Thank you Keith, it is rewarding when a story speaks to the reader. I do look for your stories, sadly I have always found it difficult to put my comments into an intelligent form. I do try
Well told story.
It is good when a story works. Thank you Bill
Nice touching piece, this Mandrake character sounds an interesting chap
That is true… I only wish that I knew more about the fellow.
I’m sure if she wishes it, the shop will be there 🙂
One can only hope so.
A sad tale well told. It’s good that she had something to look forward to.
That is true, thank you Brenda
You get a lot of dream quality into a few words: well done.
I appreciated this feedback, thank you Robert
I hope there is something there… waiting for her.
That is what the writer hopes for her also.
