Fintan the Wise and the Arret
Grey wolf was tired. He had used all his ingenuity to avoid capture. Yet he had been driven from the forest up into the high plains. Hunting him had become the dark lord’s priority. Those who held magic were to be hunted to extinction. Fintan Mac Bo’chra sent the Grey Lady to carry the twins to Ireland. Looking down on Ravenstonedale, Grey Wolf saw the Lune illuminated by the moon. The twins also saw the Grey Lady. With the hounds of hell hunting them, Grey Lady was their only hope… So Fintan Mac Bo’chra metamorphosed from a salmon to an eagle…
Redolent of ancient tales
Dear Michael,
An intriguing tale that left me wanting to know more.
Shalom,

Hi Rochelle, my post this week is a wee snippet from a unpublished novel I wrote many years back. The twins in the novel are a pair of special talking cats …
Arret means Scar. Isn’t it?
Hi Renna, I was using the term Arret, as a judgement given a king, my post this week was a snippet from my unpublished novel
Very exciting and imaginative. Is this based on an existing myth?

I love a good mythical tale! Lots of potential in this one for romance, adventure and intrigue 🙂

You’ve got quite an adventure going on here, Michael. Sounds like he has the advantage with his shape-shifting abilities. Best of luck to him.

He kind of went from ‘prey’ mode to ‘hunter’ mode with that transformation.

Such an interesting take on the prompt – really enjoyed it
Thank you for kind comment
This really was a whole world! Have you ever thought of returning to your story?
I have been considering returning and improving the novel, but I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I would prefer to rewrite it completely
Just had a talk from an editor at my writers’ group and he talked about starting again once you know the story, rather than just tinkering around with the existing text. Takes courage and time but can be worth it. Good luck if you do decide to have another go!
Miranda, I really welcome your comment and support, I will think over what you say, which in some ways I agree with. Mike
What an intriguing tale, Michael.
Intriguing is just want I was looking for, thank you
