Child number Seven

Photo curtsy of Jennifer Pendergast

Seven may be a lucky number, unless you where the seventh child to be found within the decaying ice of Antarctica. Children one to six had failed to survive being thawed, however child seven had been frozen within her mother womb. The scientists having learnt from their first six failures, successfully delivered child seven into the thirty first century. They named the child Storm, then set about trying to understand the child’s extraordinary abilities. The malleable nature of her body was extreme, which along with her chameleon ability would allow her to be a top agent for Force.

  1. I love how you blend very futuristic SF with ancient myths (7th child). This reads like the beginning of a great larger story world. Gotta check out your short stories about her.

  2. Dear Michael,

Let me try this again. I take it the mother of the unborn phenom didn’t survive. Intriguing and imaginative story. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  3. Michael, I have stood exactly where you are standing in this picture 🙂

Anyway, I love this story, and can easily see how it could be built into a fascinating sci-fi thriller.
