Asleep
The day came to lay aside my bikes.
It was an evil day indeed.
I have turned them into art.
Now I dream,
as I walk where once I rode.
It seems although I have stopped riding, I can not stop writing.

From fitness to finesse. Well done
Thank you very much for this comment Neil,
Sorry to hear you’ve stopped riding your bike.
In some way I should have carried on riding.
But fond memories and you’ve earned the slower pace of life.
Iain it is kind of you to say so.
That last sentence is perfect π
I can’t ride my bike any more, either, and I do miss it. Hard on my wonky back, though.
To a fellow cyclist and writer Thank you Linda,
Really liked that! From one hobby to another; keep savouring.
Thank you, I am sure that hobbies are crucial to maintaining personal health
I have two bikes stored in my garage, one standard, the other fold away. Not giving up yet – I may end up living somewhere flatter. π
I often wish that I could in some way flatten the hills around me, but then again I love seeing their varying moods
Time for one of those electric bikes perhaps?
To cope with me and the fabulous hills around me, I would need a jet powered bike
i gave up on my bike after a couple of near-miss accidents
I am sorry to hear this,
That is truly poetic Michael, keep riding in your dreams π
Thank you so very much Angela, your comment means a lot to me
I miss bike rides, but having moved from flatland to the hills, I’ll need to get a lot fitter before I can manage to go far on it! Glad you’ve found another hobby to replace the biking.
I never truly got used to coping with hills⦠I really wished that I had persevered
Dear Michael,
It’s been a long time since I’ve ridden my bicycle. Walking is also a great form of exercise. π
Shalom,
Rochelle
Rochelle, more and more I think that those who write need to counter balance writing with physical excise
I don’t ride my bike now either. I live so close to town it’s more of a hassle locking it up and carrying around my helmet and my hi-viz vest. Walking is a great way to get around π
I can understand the hassle, whilst walking more would be good for me.
I’m so glad you are still writing, Michael!
Thank you so much Brenda, I am finding it surprisingly very hard to stop. So I going to try being more succinct and use fewer words.
