Busy Bees
Busy bees in such a hurry, going where, coming from where. All sort of shapes and colours, some moving slowly, some moving fast. Leaving trails of turbulence and poison. Love them or hate them, and I love and hate them in equal measure.
Aged six I often glazed on an abandoned large black prewar car, a gangsters car in my dreams. Aged nine I played chicken with cars passing my school play ground until caned by the headmaster. Aged twelve as well as train spotting I played at spotting the then new Austin and Morris Mini. Aged fifteen I left school so that I might work with motor engines and I purchased a Raleigh moped. Aged eighteen I learnt how to drive properly, i.e. I officially past my driving test. So I purchased a MG Magnette. Aged twenty one I thought that I understood girls.
But I did not. Aged twenty four a Vauxhall Viva HA entered my life. What fun. Aged twenty seven a smart green Mini with a drop down boot came into my ownership. Then came a Peugeot 403 followed by a 104 then by a 205. I then switched back to a Montego estate, followed by another Montego estate. Then came the ill fated Meastro which I personally liked.
From then on it’s been a succession of Landrovers, including a 1948 Mk1, a series 1 Landrover Discovery followed by two Discovery series 2’s and more lately a Freelander. In amongst these cars when money was tight to run a car, I also used a Lambretta scooter, a Honda 90 and a Honda 175, followed by a Honda 125 x. And when money was even tighter my trusty old blue 1956 Claud Butler cycle looked after my needs. For the last few years I have also had the use of a VW Eos, a really great convertible. Cars they are my busy bees.
I don’t have this?
