The Prisoners of Deimos
I say Fred what do we have here? Looks tempting Roger, come on then, lets see what we can find. Quietly does it, we don’t want to wake the dead, do we?
‘Or break the egg’.
Do you think aliens built it? Roger. Maybe Fred.
‘We did’.
Look here Roger, there’s some kind of television.
‘It’s a panel you numpty’
It’s rather cold.
‘So would you be if you had been waiting here for someone to find you for millennia. Then you two numpties come along’.
I say we leave it, its only plastic.
‘Platinum numbskulls’.
‘I dare you – LET US OUT ‘ย
That made me smile
As I wrote this piece I was thinking of Laural and Hardy, so I’m so glad you smiled. Although the story turn grimmer as I penned it
Even stagesets can be scary…
Thank you Bjorn, the ancient Greeks certainly knew how to use a stage.
Really different – I like this.
Thank you so much,
Numpty is such a great, underused word. Amusing take Michael ๐
It is so long since I used this word that I had forgotten how to spell it. Thank you Iain
Dear Michael,
You had me at ‘numpty.’ Fun dialogue that moves this cute little story along. Nice one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle,
Very scary when the third party to the conversation is a silent partner. Good one.
Thank you Sandra,
nice one…Can’t wait for the sequel
Thats a kind comment; but as for the sequel that will depend on the prompts Rochelle puts our way.
That was fun indeed… In the second sentence, do you really mean “them” or “then”?
Love the term Numpty – thanks to Mr. Ayr, Rochelle and I use it a lot… ๐
Thank you Dale. The tale that came from your lovely picture, formed so fast that I did miss spell [then] which makes me the numpty.
Naw… but as you might have noticed, Mr. Ayr himself accuses me of being a typo specialist.. so I’m just protecting you! ๐ And thank you. Glad you liked my picture (It’s really the storage area of a winery in Tuscany!)
Protection gladly excepted.
I’m so glad someone took a sci-fi turn with it. Nicely done.
One of the things that I love about FF posts are all the comments that follow the posts. So thank you so much. Mike
I love that, too. I try to read them all, and I’d comment on all, too, if there were that many hours in the day. I always enjoy your stories even when I can only browse.
That is kind of you. I am fortunate to have time. Mike
I’d say these two “numpties” just dodged a bullet.
Or worse, but they never knew. Mike
Pandora’s box revisited. ๐
So right,
This is a fun take. I too, love the word ‘numpty’!
Thank you,
Super piece
Thank you for your kind comment
fun! Made me think a bit alien too ๐ I wonder if I should hope someone lets them….or not?
Thats an interesting question.
I didn’t quite understand the context of it, but it’s early here in the States. I liked the comedy. Fun stuff. I might just be adding “numpty” to my vocabulary.
๐
I am not sure that it can be understood. It rather wrote itself. But I am glad you like the word numpty.
Love it!
Fun take on the prompt with Numpty winning word of the week by a long street
That’s very kind of you.
All those years and numpties find them. Funny story and good writing, Mike. ๐ — Suzanne
Thank you so much for your kind comments Suzanne,
Good fun take Michael, and with a little bit of a dark undertone too – I suspect if they do open it, they will regret it!
They surely will, thank you Siobhan.
Haha..humorous story.
Glad that you liked it, thank you Dawn.
