Yesterday
All in black, leaning back, just relaxed, eyes down, listening ear plugs in, concentrating on a phone screen. A black duffel bag on his lap, only a thin blue cable to break the mono colour of his being. A smile crossed his face, a joke, no one will ever know. I saw him rise and leave, climb aboard the train, such a beautiful face, one you should not forget easily. Then I heard this evenings news, signal failure causes train to crash, five fatalities including a young black comedian on his way to the Edinburgh Festival. His image flashed across the screen, a face that you don’t forget easily.
