Who and why
Drenched by rain, their faces obscured. Faint and smudged images of hands waving. I found myself asking who and why should I save. The giant unsinkable liner was slowly sinking beneath the oceans surface. If I failed to act an individual was going to die. As I look back over my life, thousands of faces appear, each belonging to people that, if I could, I would apologise to. Now I had to save a life for someone else. Aristotle believed that every individual had the potential for greatness. I plunged beneath the waves and pushed her up into the lifeboat.
An enobling act
It could well be, or just putting right a past wrong.
A hero is an angel and I thank God for every one that has crossed my path. Not sure who I’d want to talk with from the past. Too many to choose just one.
Yes it is a challenge… Myself I would like to hear from so many people in my past.
Excellent this week Michael. I’m glad he came to his conclusion.
Thank you very much Iain,
Excellent and thought provoking, Michael.
Thank you Penny, the rain splattered windows took me to an unexpected story
Some deep thinking before he took the plunge. I wonder–did HE survive?
Thank you Linda, no one knows for sure, but it is unlikely.
Dear Michael,
Life is full of tough choices. He’ll always be a hero in her eyes.
Shalom,
Rochelle
He chose well, a hero indeed
Quite a contemplation.
It was all undertaken in a split second, that was how he had always lived his life
Decisions, decisions! I think I’d just save whoever was closest? As for talking to someone from the past… for me it would be St Paul 🙂
Clare St Paul is a great choice,
One person’s hero is another person’s antagonist. Sometimes the here and now is all that matters.
I believe he had lived his life by the moment.
Very graphic Michael.
Your comment has helped me to look deeper into my thought processes when writing this flash. Fascinating
Nice one, Michael.

Thank you Laurie
