Child number Seven
Seven may be a lucky number, unless you where the seventh child to be found within the decaying ice of Antarctica. Children one to six had failed to survive being thawed, however child seven had been frozen within her mother womb. The scientists having learnt from their first six failures, successfully delivered child seven into the thirty first century. They named the child Storm, then set about trying to understand the child’s extraordinary abilities. The malleable nature of her body was extreme, which along with her chameleon ability would allow her to be a top agent for Force.
She may wish she’d stayed in the ice
It did take quite a while for her to find her true self
I’m not sure being thawed was to her advantage. Sounds like she is not in for a nice life.
Storm has appeared in several short story of mine, in her adult life she ends up using her skills to help individuals in need
Wow this could be a whole series of books. Nice one!
Thank you Mason, I do have several short stories about Storm,
A great origin story for Storm. Sounds like just the beginning of a bigger story.
Thank you Jade, Storm does have quite a string of eventful stories
I like how you make it clear that surviving the process is not the happy ending for her. Great origin story, as others have said.
Thank you Jennifer, your photo allowed me to write more about one of my favourite characters, Storm
I love how you blend very futuristic SF with ancient myths (7th child). This reads like the beginning of a great larger story world. Gotta check out your short stories about her.
I only wish that I had the drive to build a full length novel around Storm and her friends
Your imagination is in overdrive here, Michael. Well done.
Overdrive is a good description, Storm has figured in quite a few flash episodes, however as time moves past her story and character is filling out…
For her, the world she has been born into will feel normal. Interesting concept – is there a book in there?
I have quite a few snippets of flash centred around Storm, but I have not found the key to writing a full length novel about her yet
Dear Michael,
Let me try this again. I take it the mother of the unborn phenom didn’t survive. Intriguing and imaginative story. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Sadly so far I have not found out what happened to Storms mother, now you have set me investigating that.
I’m now wanting to know more about Storm. Just the name is intriguing! A great take Michael.
Here’s mine!
Like Rosey, a character can grow and grow,…. Storm is doing just that
Good origin story for Storm. You’ve had one or two in FF haven’t you?
Hi Penny, yes as a character Storm is developing, which is worrying me in case she takes control of writing.
I hope she doesn’t end up being used for nefarious purposes.
I am afraid that at first she was, but her future actions are still open to debate
I see from the comments that this is only the beginning of Storm’s story. Intriguing. You can take her to many places.
Storm enjoys traveling, but not at the command of the F.O.R.C.E aka Force
Michael, I have stood exactly where you are standing in this picture 🙂
Anyway, I love this story, and can easily see how it could be built into a fascinating sci-fi thriller.
Well I never, I enjoyed being in Boston. If only I had the drive to develop Storm’s story.
