1991 a vintage year.
Here we go again, computer to hand, mused switched on. The pebbles caught my attention. Took me to a beach near the mouth of the Sid.
I relax watching the ocean, as the rigging from sailing boats rattles in the breeze. Sam tries to chase seagulls, scattering pebbles left and right. Later we will walk the Undercliff, to Lyme Regis. So sleep will come easily tonight. But first I will dine well. Joan and Philip will see to that. The conversation will flow. No masks will be required. Yes 1991 was a vintage year.
Ah, the good old days! Things we took for granted are now cherished memories.
I certainly do miss the freedom to visit costal areas.
Every year looking back seems like a vintage one at the moment. Here’s to being able to make new memories in the future.
I do find it frustrating not being able to travel. You are right we need to look forward.
We may never go back to those days. But perhaps we can go forward to something better
I certainly hope so, I do miss being able to travel freely at least in Great Britain
Even nostalgia’s not what it used to be, Michael
Memories can be challenging. I did very much enjoy meeting new people on my travels.
Hard to believe it was 30 years ago!
That is so true, but time does not stop for anyone.
Oh, happy days! I did manage a couple of UK camping trips during the summer, but my passport is looking a bit sad sitting there unwanted!
My passport too…I have only just recalled that I have one.
Once upon a long time ago…
Once upon a time is so true, I always enjoyed my trips to the southwest.
Ode, to the good-old-days. Enjoyed.
Thank you so much Roger,
Dear Michael,
We do find ourselves longing for the good times when we didn’t have to distance or wear a mask. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I was working in nursing, it was a time of comradeship. Today nurses are working very hard, I feel for them…
Nicely done. Your descriptions are evocative, and made me think back to those good days.
Thank you Eugenia. I am grateful to have good memories
Sounds like a great day!
Devon is a good place to spend time, as long as one does not eat to many cream teas.
Who’s Sam?
Sam was a lovely collie ‘dog’ I have been fortunate to have several collies who have excepted my companionship.
Ah, a lovely memory. It set me at ease. =) Especially the part about no masks.
Thank you Brenda, many the masks that are available are inappropriate… I have been disappointed that the government did not stepped in and organise a supply of high quality clear ‘see though’ masks.
Oh the memories of how relaxed we once were way back when. Thanks for the reminder! No way done
Thank you Laurie Good Memories are so important
