Not in control
Indeed this is a troublesome day, I am going back over countless notes. It seems that my control system is in meltdown, overloaded with copious notes on paper. I need to install a traffic light system. Red meaning send to the bin. Amber, yes they potential. Green, full steam ahead. But where to start ? Perhaps three filing trays.
Now to those emails to myself holding short story drafts. I should order them in the same way. Green: urgent attention needed. Amber: Pending. Red: Bin.
Perhaps a new lockdown might be useful after all. Roll on winter. Coffee time? Yes.
Dear Michael,
Let me know how that new system works for you. 😉 I’m the queen of disorganization. Clever take on the prompt.
Shalom,
Rochelle
It’s time for coffee always seems to arrive just before paper sorting
Ugh that over whelmed feeling. I hope the system works.
I do also, but first I need another cup of coffee
Just dont spend so long organising that you run out of time to do any writing!
Wow that’s a good reason not to spend time sorting my paper work, thank you Iain
Delete evetry incoming e-mail. If it’s important, they’ll chase you
But I do not want chasing, as I am not as fast on my feet as I used to be.
Don’t mistake organisation for progress. Although sometimes it can help.
Progress is a strange phenomenon, I don’t seem to make much of it when I attempt to sort my old stories. O well it is time for another nap.
Nice take on the prompt. Maybe I should try applying this system to my own emails.
Just a note of caution, I have misplaced a important e-mail using this system.
Coffee green, Winter amber, another lockdown definitely red!
Green for coffee sounds just perfect. As for winter and lockdowns, let’s leave them in the pending draw.
Sounds like an organizational plan is forming. Clearing away the reds is good.
Unfortunately my plan will have to wait, whilst I have a nap or two.
I like where you took the prompt! May you never have gridlock! 🙂
Thank you Na’ama, unfortunately sometimes my middle name seems to be gridlock.
Agree, I liked this take.
Great story. I can definitely relate. I’ve got so many notes in so many notebooks and on so many devices.
Sometimes I think that I should buy a large shed, fill it, then seal it.
This sorting thing didn’t work for me. Because I didn’t even get around to sorting. Hope it works for you 🙂
If I had a room available, I fill it with all the items I like. Then again there are so many items. I probably will need three very large rooms.
Great in theory – let us know if it works in practice!
It is a very slow method, but then with all the rain at the moment, I am making a small inroad into my mountain of notes.
Yes, don’t let me know if I should try this filing system!!
It is a very slow method, but then with all the rain here at the moment, I am making small inroads into a pile of writing material.
But–but HOW could a writer ever put ANYTHING in the bin!
That is my dilemma exactly, however with all the rain at the moment, I am making a small inroad into a mountain of notes. And I might add creating more at the same time. !!!
Coffee makes everything better. 🙂
Good coffee certainly does,
Email to self? Never thought of that. It’s write, file, forget where or when, or simply electronically misplace it. Good one. Enjoyed it.
I have lost count of the photos I have misplace within my electronic gadgets. Fortunately I just about always print a copy’s of my writing. Unfortunately soon I will be fighting a paper mountain
I think I could use a bit of order on my desk.
But, first a cup of coffee. ~~~ : – )
Be safe …
Isadora
Enjoy the coffee and keep safe. Regards Mike
